A top price for Louis-Robert Carrier-Belleuse - as previously expected
In June 2007 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, including Spanish and Orientalist Art, which included the work Le Bouquiniste (The bookseller) by Louis-Robert Carrier-Belleuse. The price achieved of GBP 36,000.00 (€ 53,422.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Le Bouquiniste (The bookseller) is the most expensive artwork by Louis-Robert Carrier-Belleuse that we have observed at auctions so far.
