In March 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures & 20th Century British Art, which included the work Belgian Away From Prying Eyes by Louis Ricquier. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,109.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Belgian Away From Prying Eyes is the most expensive artwork by Louis Ricquier that we have observed at auctions so far.
