Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Woman taking Coffee; The Milk Woman (Hérold 294-5) by Louis-Marin Bonnet was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,899.99). Other works by Louis-Marin Bonnet have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2008 by the work Tête de Flore at EUR 4,880.00.
