Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of a lady by Louis Marie Sicardi was sold in the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction at Sothebys in London in December 2020. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,016.00 (€ 2,252.05). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Marie Sicardi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A girl called Mademoiselle Victorine de Chastenay-Lanty, full face in white dress with laced green bodice and fichu, posy of forget-me-nots pinned at corsage, forget-me-nots, blue ribbon and large straw hat in her long powdered curled hair dressed à in April 2002 with an auction result of GBP 15,275.00 (€ 24,
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.016,00 (€ 2.252,05) einen neuen Besitzer.
