Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Scène de voleurs by Louis-Léopold Boilly was sold in the Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries auction at Sothebys in London in July last year. The price achieved of GBP 16,380.00 (€ 19,560.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 14,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis-Léopold Boilly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A trompe l'oeil of an ivory and wood crucifix in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 823,500.00 (€ 755,851.31).

Die Arbeit Scène de voleurs von Louis-Léopold Boilly wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 16.380,00 (€ 19.560,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 14.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis-Léopold Boilly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A trompe l'oeil of an ivory and wood crucifix im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 823.500,00 (€ 755.851,31).
