This artwork by Louis-Léopold Boilly achieved an unexpectedly high price at Artcurial in Paris in February last year. In the Old Master & 19th Century Art auction, the work Portrait D'Homme À La Veste Noire sold for EUR 5,460.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis-Léopold Boilly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A trompe l'oeil of an ivory and wood crucifix in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 823,500.00 (€ 755,851.31).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Louis-Léopold Boilly erzielte im Februar letzten Jahres bei Artcurial in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait D'Homme À La Veste Noire für EUR 5.460,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis-Léopold Boilly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A trompe l'oeil of an ivory and wood crucifix im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 823.500,00 (€ 755.851,31).
