Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Louis Galliac could be acquired at Sothebys in London in October 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work French La Lecture Près De La Lampe changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,779.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louis Galliac have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In the Boudoir in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 26,290.00 (€ 29,204.62).
