The work David With The Head Of Goliath by Louis Finson was sold in the Old Master Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 45,425.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Louis Finson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Annunciation in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 190,600.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit David With The Head Of Goliath von Louis Finson wurde im Dezember 2008 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 43.250,00 (€ 45.425,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Finson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Annunciation im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 190.600,05).
