Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Study of four dogs and an eagle; and Study of seven dogs a hare and a goat by Louis-Auguste Brun for GBP 9,560.00 (€ 12,456.03). This price was achieved in the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis-Auguste Brun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View From A Hilltop Across A Lake, With Figures In An Elegant Horse-Drawn Carriage Along A Road, A Grand Building To The Left And A Small Town In The Mountains Beyond, which sold at auction in January 2017 for USD 32,500.00 (€ 30,109.32).
