Despite a disappointment, a good price for Louis-Alphonse Davanne
When the work Paysages, Années 1850 by Louis-Alphonse Davanne was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in November 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 2,500.00. Despite this disappointing result, Paysages, Années 1850 is the most expensive artwork by Louis-Alphonse Davanne that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Louis-Alphonse Davanne
Als die Arbeit Paysages, Années 1850 von Louis-Alphonse Davanne im November 2008 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 2.500,00 den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Paysages, Années 1850 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Louis-Alphonse Davanne, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
