Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2001 Christies in Rome held the auction DIPINTI E DISEGNI ANTICHI, which included the work L'educazione della Vergine by Lorenzo de Caro. The price achieved of ITL 17,150,000.00 (€ 15,414.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as ITL 15,000,000.00 – 20,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lorenzo de Caro have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Serie di cinque oli su tela raffiguranti scene bibliche: ' Trionfo di David' 'Trionfo di Mardocheo', 'Ritrovamento di Mosè', 'Trionfo di Giuditta', 'Ester e Assuero', (misure diverse) in October 2013 with an auction result of EUR 120,000.00.

Im Dezember 2001 führte Christies in Rom die Auktion DIPINTI E DISEGNI ANTICHI durch, in der auch die Arbeit L'educazione della Vergine von Lorenzo de Caro zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von ITL 17.150.000,00 (€ 15.414,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit ITL 15.000.000,00 – 20.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lorenzo de Caro auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Serie di cinque oli su tela raffiguranti scene bibliche: ' Trionfo di David' 'Trionfo di Mardocheo', 'Ritrovamento di Mosè', 'Trionfo di Giuditta', 'Ester e Assuero', (misure diverse) im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 120.000,00.
