Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Aqueduct at Limpley Stoke by Paul Ayshford Methuen was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2004. The price achieved of GBP 573.60 (€ 866.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Ayshford Methuen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reclining nude in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,858.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Aqueduct at Limpley Stoke von Paul Ayshford Methuen kam im Juli 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 573,60 (€ 866,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Ayshford Methuen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Reclining nude im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.858,07).
