Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Burleigh House, Northamptonshire by Paul Ayshford Methuen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 836.50 (€ 1,183.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Paul Ayshford Methuen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reclining nude in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,858.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Burleigh House, Northamptonshire von Paul Ayshford Methuen zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 836,50 (€ 1.183,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Ayshford Methuen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Reclining nude im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.858,07).
