Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century Chinese Art, which included the work Big Plait by Long Liyou. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 2,080,000.00 (€ 193,453.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Long Liyou have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work August 18Th, 1966 in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 9,200,000.00 (€ 900,577.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Big Plait von Long Liyou zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 2.080.000,00 (€ 193.453,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Long Liyou auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit August 18Th, 1966 im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.200.000,00 (€ 900.577,16).
