Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lon Megargee could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Horse In Ruined Village (Galisteo, New Mexico) changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,758.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lon Megargee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gallisteo, New Mexico, which sold at auction in October 2013 for USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,896.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lon Megargee konnte im Oktober 2013 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Horse In Ruined Village (Galisteo, New Mexico) für USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.758,57) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lon Megargee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gallisteo, New Mexico beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für USD 9.375,00 (€ 6.896,42) versteigert wurde.
