In October 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Gallisteo, New Mexico by Lon Megargee. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,896.42), 17% above the upper estimate. With this result, Gallisteo, New Mexico is even the most expensive work of art by Lon Megargee that we have observed at auctions so far.
