Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lloyd Rees could be acquired at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Australian the Western Road, New South Wales changed hands for AUD 24,000.00 (€ 14,009.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lloyd Rees achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Morning Ferry in November 2009 with an auction result of AUD 240,000.00 (€ 146,346.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lloyd Rees konnte im August 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wechselte die Arbeit Australian the Western Road, New South Wales für AUD 24.000,00 (€ 14.009,95) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lloyd Rees erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian The Morning Ferry im November 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 240.000,00 (€ 146.346,54).
