Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Coastal Landscape With Figure by Lloyd Rees was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007. The price achieved of AUD 13,200.00 (€ 7,951.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lloyd Rees achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Morning Ferry in November 2009 with an auction result of AUD 240,000.00 (€ 146,346.54).

Die Arbeit Australian Coastal Landscape With Figure von Lloyd Rees wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Sydney versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 13.200,00 (€ 7.951,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lloyd Rees erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian The Morning Ferry im November 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 240.000,00 (€ 146.346,54).
