In May this year Bonhams in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Angel Chorus by Liu Ye. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 128,000.00 (€ 15,342.22), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Ye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Smoke in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 52,182,000.00 (€ 5,964,325.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Angel Chorus von Liu Ye zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 128.000,00 (€ 15.342,22) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Ye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Smoke im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 52.182.000,00 (€ 5.964.325,41).
