Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mountain-Moon Bridge by Liu Yantao was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in February 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 25,000.00 (€ 2,664.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Yantao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 64,900.00 (€ 7,410.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mountain-Moon Bridge von Liu Yantao kam im Februar 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 25.000,00 (€ 2.664,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Yantao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 64.900,00 (€ 7.410,71) versteigert wurde.
