The work Contemplating under Pine by Liu Yantao was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. It achieved a price of HKD 16,380.00 (€ 1,944.66), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 37%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Yantao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 64,900.00 (€ 7,410.71).

Die Arbeit Contemplating under Pine von Liu Yantao wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 16.380,00 (€ 1.944,66) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 37%. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Yantao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 64.900,00 (€ 7.410,71) versteigert wurde.
