Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Disperse Series No. 3 by Liu Xintao was sold in the Contemporary Chinese Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 52,500.00 (€ 5,340.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Xintao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Disperse Series: Event, which sold at auction in October 2007 for HKD 162,500.00 (€ 14,488.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Disperse Series No. 3 von Liu Xintao wurde im Oktober 2008 in der Auktion Contemporary Chinese Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 52.500,00 (€ 5.340,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Xintao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Disperse Series: Event beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für HKD 162.500,00 (€ 14.488,87) versteigert wurde.
