Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Liu Wenxi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Old Man sold for HKD 162,500.00 (€ 13,378.05) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Liu Wenxi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of An Old Man in July last year with an auction result of HKD 840,000.00 (€ 104,814.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Wenxi erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Old Man für HKD 162.500,00 (€ 13.378,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Wenxi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of An Old Man im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 840.000,00 (€ 104.814,74).
