In December last year Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Tiger in the Ravine by Liu Jiyou. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 48,450 (€ 5,488), 62% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Jiyou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 2,180,000 (€ 189,450).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 62% übertroffen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tiger in the Ravine von Liu Jiyou zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 48.450 (€ 5.488) und damit 62% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Jiyou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.180.000 (€ 189.450).
