This artwork by Liu Jiyou achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Cat on Rock sold for HKD 239,400 (€ 28,422) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000. Admittedly, works by Liu Jiyou have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 2,180,000 (€ 189,450).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Jiyou erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Cat on Rock für HKD 239.400 (€ 28.422) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Jiyou auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.180.000 (€ 189.450).
