Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lionel Walden could be acquired at Christies in New York in March 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Going Into Port changed hands for USD 25,000.00 (€ 15,817.78) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lionel Walden have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hawaiian Coast in June 2014 with an auction result of USD 106,250.00 (€ 77,611.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lionel Walden konnte im März 2008 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Going Into Port für USD 25.000,00 (€ 15.817,78) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lionel Walden auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hawaiian Coast im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 77.611,40).
