Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View of the Capitol with the Church of Santa Maria Aracoeli and the Campidoglio, Rome by Lieven Cruyl was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2013. The price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,996.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lieven Cruyl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View Of The Construction Of The Pont Neuf Du Louvre, Paris, In June 1686 in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 67,250.00 (€ 85,658.42).
