Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work The Lady After Bath by Liang Yifeng was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2005, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 100,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 384,000.00 (€ 39,988.99). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liang Yifeng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lady in White, which sold at auction in November 2005 for HKD 900,000.00 (€ 98,473.28).
