In November 2006 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century Chinese Art, which included the work First Step by Li Zijian. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 384,000.00 (€ 37,238.82), 48% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Zijian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Buffalo Family, which sold at auction in November 2006 for HKD 1,320,000.00 (€ 128,008.45).

Im November 2006 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit First Step von Li Zijian zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 384.000,00 (€ 37.238,82) und damit 48% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Zijian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Buffalo Family beobachtet, die im November 2006 für HKD 1.320.000,00 (€ 128.008,45) versteigert wurde.
