Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cottages On Achill Island by Letitia Marion Hamilton was sold in the British & Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,398.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Letitia Marion Hamilton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wicklow Hunt Point To Point Races, which sold at auction in May 2014 for GBP 42,500.00 (€ 52,233.87).
