Auction result well in line with expectations
The work ‘Semi-Detached’ by Leslie Gilbert Illingworth was sold in the The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer auction at Sothebys in London in March 2018. The price achieved of GBP 938.00 (€ 1,067.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leslie Gilbert Illingworth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'All-In' ('Remember Boys, No Scratching, Biting, Gouging Or Wilful Misrepresentation’), which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,419.43).
