The »bidding war« ended at AUD 4,780.00 (€ 2,821.38), 59% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leonard French achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Crossing in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 156,000.00 (€ 95,921.50).

Die Arbeit Mandala Over Sea von Leonard French wurde im März 2006 in der Auktion THE W.R. BURGE COLLECTION bei Christies in Sydney versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 4.780,00 (€ 2.821,38) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leonard French erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian The Crossing im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 156.000,00 (€ 95.921,50).
