Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2004 Christies in Melbourne held the auction COLES MYER COLLECTION, which included the work Summer Pastures, Jindabyne Lake, New South Wales (Snowy River) by Leonard Hugh Long. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 5,975.00 (€ 3,480.27), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leonard Hugh Long - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lifting Fog, Belmore Gorge, New South Wales, which sold at auction in November 2004 for AUD 16,730.00 (€ 9,744.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2004 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion COLES MYER COLLECTION durch, in der auch die Arbeit Summer Pastures, Jindabyne Lake, New South Wales (Snowy River) von Leonard Hugh Long zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 5.975,00 (€ 3.480,27) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Leonard Hugh Long mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lifting Fog, Belmore Gorge, New South Wales beobachtet, die im November 2004 für AUD 16.730,00 (€ 9.744,76) versteigert wurde.
