In October 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Living with Art, which included the work Evening Tide by Leonard C. Lane. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,824.48), 33% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leonard C. Lane - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunrise over cresting waves, which sold at auction in October 2016 for USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,648.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Living with Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Evening Tide von Leonard C. Lane zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.824,48) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Leonard C. Lane mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunrise over cresting waves beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.648,97) versteigert wurde.
