A top price for Leonard Brown - as previously expected
The work Fallen Monuments by Leonard Brown was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in May 2005. The price achieved of AUD 4,541.00 (€ 2,791.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Fallen Monuments is the most expensive artwork by Leonard Brown that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Fallen Monuments von Leonard Brown kam im Mai 2005 bei Christies in Sydney zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.541,00 (€ 2.791,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Fallen Monuments das teuerste Kunstwerk von Leonard Brown, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
