In October 2021 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, which included the work Willesden Junction by Leon Kossoff. The result of GBP 100,000.00 (€ 118,472.99) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leon Kossoff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Willesden Junction - Autumn Afternoon in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 1,388,750.00 (€ 1,566,467.81).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Willesden Junction von Leon Kossoff zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 100.000,00 (€ 118.472,99) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leon Kossoff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Willesden Junction - Autumn Afternoon im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.388.750,00 (€ 1.566.467,81).
