Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Leon Golub achieved an unexpectedly high price at Artcurial in April 2017. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Combat sold for EUR 29,900.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Leon Golub have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work White Squad X in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 197,000.00 (€ 158,385.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leon Golub erzielte im April 2017 bei Artcurial einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Combat für EUR 29.900,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leon Golub auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit White Squad X im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 197.000,00 (€ 158.385,59).
