Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Jeune fille á la fontaine by Léon Girardet for GBP 59.75 (€ 84.56). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon Girardet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Intérieur D'Une Maison Mauresque in June 2010 with an auction result of EUR 68,694.00.
