Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Huntsman'S Home Coming by Léon Emile Caille was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in October 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 5,250.00. Other works by Léon Emile Caille have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2006 by the work The Lesson at USD 12,000.00 (€ 9,394.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Huntsman'S Home Coming von Léon Emile Caille im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 5.250,00 den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Léon Emile Caille wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2006 die Arbeit The Lesson mit USD 12.000,00 (€ 9.394,82).
