In June 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction European Art: Paintings & Sculpture, which included the work Anticipation by Leo Putz. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 75,000.00 (€ 82,599.50), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Leo Putz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work German Hinter Den Kulissen (Behind The Scenes) in June 2009 with an auction result of GBP 361,250.00 (€ 423,914.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European Art: Paintings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Anticipation von Leo Putz zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 82.599,50) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leo Putz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit German Hinter Den Kulissen (Behind The Scenes) im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 361.250,00 (€ 423.914,76).
