Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Dune by Leigh Ledare was auctioned at Sothebys in London in August 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,142.00 (€ 2,495.43). Other works by Leigh Ledare have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2021 by the work Mom Spread with Red Heels. at EUR 4,515.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Dune von Leigh Ledare im August 2021 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.142,00 (€ 2.495,43) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Leigh Ledare wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juni 2021 die Arbeit Mom Spread with Red Heels. mit EUR 4.515,00.
