Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lee Ho Ryon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2007. In the Asian Contemporary Art auction, the work Overlapping sold for HKD 162,500.00 (€ 14,205.47) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 65,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lee Ho Ryon; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Overlapping Image 080201 & Overlapping Image 080202 sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of HKD 235,500.00 (€ 19,387.89).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lee Ho Ryon erzielte im November 2007 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Overlapping für HKD 162.500,00 (€ 14.205,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 65.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lee Ho Ryon; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Overlapping Image 080201 & Overlapping Image 080202 im Mai 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 235.500,00 (€ 19.387,89).
