Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Phillips in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Nude (Madonna) by Lee Friedlander. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,080.00 (€ 5,886.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Friedlander achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Little Screens in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 850,000.00 (€ 761,512.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nude (Madonna) von Lee Friedlander zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.080,00 (€ 5.886,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lee Friedlander erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Little Screens im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 850.000,00 (€ 761.512,27).
