In October last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Children's Cancer & Blood Foundation Charity Auction, which included the work Vogue La Galère by Lawrence Weiner. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,040.00 (€ 2,053.55), 70% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Weiner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work BALLS OF WOOD BALLS OF IRON in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 185,000.00 (€ 168,273.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Children's Cancer & Blood Foundation Charity Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vogue La Galère von Lawrence Weiner zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.040,00 (€ 2.053,55) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Weiner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit BALLS OF WOOD BALLS OF IRON im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 185.000,00 (€ 168.273,60).
