Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work The Hanging Tree by Lawrence Daws for AUD 705.00 (€ 409.48). This price was achieved in the auction AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS at Christies in Melbourne and was even below the estimate range of AUD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Daws achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lily Pool in November 2003 with an auction result of AUD 28,200.00 (€ 17,011.69).

Im November 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Hanging Tree von Lawrence Daws für AUD 705,00 (€ 409,48) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Daws erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lily Pool im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 28.200,00 (€ 17.011,69).
