Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Laurent de la Hyre could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Courts of Europe auction, the work Allegory Of Geometry changed hands for USD 785,000.00 (€ 581,481.48) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Other works by Laurent de la Hyre have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November last year by the work Narcisse at EUR 918,400.00.
