Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Washington Arch, Early Spring by Laurence A. Campbell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,313.00 (€ 3,908.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Laurence A. Campbell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 5Th Avenue in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 53,657.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Washington Arch, Early Spring von Laurence A. Campbell zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.313,00 (€ 3.908,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Laurence A. Campbell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 5Th Avenue im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 53.657,28).
