Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale, which included the work Mellow Mood by Larry Otoo. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,657.50 (€ 1,906.61) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Larry Otoo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ace Gang, which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,510.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mellow Mood von Larry Otoo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.657,50 (€ 1.906,61) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Larry Otoo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ace Gang beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.510,77) versteigert wurde.
