Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lajos Tihanyi could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work Hungarian still Life With Fruit changed hands for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 21,558.22) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lajos Tihanyi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Tersánszky Józsi Jeno, which sold at auction in February 2019 for GBP 52,500.00 (€ 61,243.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lajos Tihanyi konnte im November 2012 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Hungarian still Life With Fruit für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 21.558,22) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lajos Tihanyi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Tersánszky Józsi Jeno beobachtet, die im Februar 2019 für GBP 52.500,00 (€ 61.243,08) versteigert wurde.
