In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work A British four-masted barque under full sail by Lai Fong of Calcutta. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,400.26), 43% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Lai Fong of Calcutta have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Iron Wool Clipper Loch Tay At Sea in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 5,736.00 (€ 8,251.21).

Im November 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime durch, in der auch die Arbeit A British four-masted barque under full sail von Lai Fong of Calcutta zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.400,26) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lai Fong of Calcutta auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Iron Wool Clipper Loch Tay At Sea im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.736,00 (€ 8.251,21).
